Popular Canadian sport hubs

If you are looking for the one-stop solution for all sports news in Canada and don’t want to tune in to the scores of new channels, you might want to take a look at RDS Info. Unlike other news channels that only have a few sports each segment, RDS Info focuses on it exclusively. As a result, you don’t just have sports news to look forward to, but everything from sports analysis to player stories, just the way you like.

What is RDS Info?

Essentially a Canadian digital cable specialty channel growing in popularity each day, it is around the clock sports news channel jointly owned by ESPN and Bell Media. Introduced in 2004 under the French name Réseau Info-Sports, the channel was later rebranded as RDS Info in the January of 2012.

RDS Info works on more or less the same format. It consists of a 30-minute news wheel that broadcasts sports scores in addition to a ticker that constantly displays the latest novelties in sports during most of the programming. Its headquarters are in Montreal, Quebec and has two sister channels in case of scheduling conflicts called RDS and RDS2.

Gerry Frappier, President, and CEO of RDS believes that the new channel will help them rehash their entire offering to make it more tailor drove for their audience. The aim of RDS info, according to him, is to make all journalists come together in a new state of the art newsroom, with a single aim – to create better sports news.

The team

A real crossroads of information, RDS INFO becomes the nerve center of everything related to sports news for all RDS platforms. Thanks to the many members of the team looking for sports information wherever they are, the network can provide all the news and current events to the various platforms such as RDS, RDS2, RDS.ca and RDS Mobile.

RDS INFO relies on an experienced team of more than 80 journalists, editors, and expert analysts. This is a group of individuals with rich and diverse backgrounds, united by the passion for sports and the desire to offer the best information to all Quebec fans at all times.

The SPORTS 30 newsletter, the reference for sports information for more than 20 years, has moved into its new studio and offers a complete overview of sports news, from Monday to Friday, at 4 pm, on RDS INFO. Marc Labrecque is at the helm of this 60-minute late-afternoon edition, which goes beyond the news, thanks to the analysis, reports, and interviews of the various expert contributors who improve information.
